DO I NEED TO INSULATE MY FLAT ROOF?
Up until recent years, most flat roofs were installed with an inadequate amount of insulation (if any).
The result of this is a cold room underneath and expensive heat bills from heat loss through the roof. There is a high risk of condensation inside the ceiling between the rafters of the roof deck. This means if left long enough it could course your timber to start rotting plus creating mauled and bad odours.
Our warm-deck roof system will prevent the heat from leaving the room by trapping it underneath the 120mm slab of insulation (celotex and base boards). This will also stop cold air from dropping into your room bellow from above. Using this type of insulation on a flat eliminates the need for ventilation to the roof still complying with building control.
RISK OF A POORLY INSULATED ROOF:
1. High heating bills
2. Cold and draughty rooms
3. Risk of mauled and condensation
4. damage to the roof structure
5. damage to the environment through wasting carbon.
